I am a professional language teacher with extensive experience teaching Japanese and English. I believe language and culture are closely intertwined, so in my classes, in addition to language, you will learn relevant cultural and historical characteristics. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, I am happy to help you on your language learning journey.

Tutoring Experience

I have seven years teaching experience in both English and Japanese. My greatest achievement includes when a student of mine, who I taught as a beginner, passed the N2 in the Japanese Proficiency Language Test (JLPT).
For the past two years, I have been the head of Japanese at International House Edinburgh, managing a team of five teachers and a fleet of classes.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is the result of years of experience, working with hundreds of students. I teach Japanese comprehensively: I believe language and culture are closely intertwined, so in order to study any language, it is beneficial to understand aspects of culture as well. Therefore, in addition to language, I also teach history, culture, and etymology that is relevant to the subject matter.
