My name is Tamzin and I am 34 years old. My favourite place to be is in nature and I spend my free time often walking or running in the woods or exploring new places, both at home and abroad. At weekends, I love teaching bush craft and archery at a local campsite.
I have been in the field of education for over 10 years and have now been working as a Class Teacher in a primary school since 2018. Before that, I was working in outdoor education; running Forest School sessions and leading school trips at country parks, city farms and London Zoo, for example. I initially qualified to teach in schools as a graduate in Early Years (Reception) and have recently completed by QTS to cover my professional knowledge right up to the end of primary school.
I am an enthusiastic teacher and I like to bring real world experiences and practical learning into my approach wherever possible. I have taught RWI Phonics for 7 years and have a specialist knowledge in this area. I am often told that my approach is calm and inclusive, with a focus on children's wellbeing and ensuring that I always have a child-centred approach to ensure learning works for the individual in the best way possible.
