I am 46 years old. I work hard, enjoy life and am fun-loving. I love my job and put 100% into everything I do. I am proud of the tutoring business I have built. Being a teacher is a privilege and I could never get bored working with children. I enjoy seeing friends, good food, cooking, reading, film, theatre and travel.

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified and experienced primary school teacher with over 23 years' teaching experience. I have been home tutoring since 2011 as well as being in school. I decided to focus solely on tutoring in 2015 and have built my business since.
I began my career when I qualified to teach English as a foreign language in 2002. I went on to teach foreign students in primary schools, secondary schools, language schools and universities in England, Italy, Austria, Poland, South Korea and Japan on short contracts.
I passed my primary PGCE in 2006 and have taught across the key stages in several schools in the Kent and Bromley boroughs. I have been graded as a 'good' and 'outstanding' teacher in formal observations. Most of my experience is in key stage 2. I have also been employed by Edexcel to mark the year 6 SAT papers.

Tutoring Approach

I offer group online tuition via zoom, to prepare children for the 11+. I offer classes for both Year 4 & Year 5. Class size is maximum 8 children. I have excellent subject knowledge and am an expert in the 11+ curriculum. My approach is positive, fun and ‘no pressure.’ The children I work with achieve excellent results, as well as enjoying the journey. I cover all topics for exams written by GL, CEM & CSSE. I teach maths, comprehension, writing, SPAG. verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Exam technique, tips and preparation are also woven into the sessions. I am well resourced and provide children with a variety of activities using whiteboards, discussion, practical exercises and interactive games and apps. Children really enjoy the sessions and make excellent progress as a result.
