I am a recent biochemistry graduate from the University of Manchester with a strong background in molecular biology and hands-on laboratory experience in advanced techniques such as histology, mass spectrometry, and PCR. My academic journey has been complemented by leadership roles in extracurricular activities, such as the Officer Cadet position in the University’s Officer Training Corps and the Social Secretary of the Hiking Club. I also hold an ABRSM Grade 8 in piano and have a deep passion for teaching both science and music, aiming to inspire students with a combination of technical proficiency and enthusiasm for the subjects I love.
Throughout my degree, I have conducted multiple research projects, most notably in histological analysis, fluorescence imaging, and mass spectrometry studies. I have also worked on genetic studies involving PCR and DNA analysis. These research experiences have honed my ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively. In addition to my scientific expertise, I have over five years of experience playing piano at a high level and I am eager to pass on my knowledge to new learners and more experienced musicians alike.
My approach to teaching is highly student-centred and focused on building a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. In science, I encourage students to apply critical thinking to real-world problems, using my own research experiences as examples. For music, I focus on developing technique and musical expression, tailoring lessons to each student’s pace and goals. I believe in fostering an environment where curiosity and self-confidence can thrive, whether in a lab or at the piano.
