I've been teaching Geography to Y7-13 at Birkdale School for 17 years. I can offer sessions in general revision and other study skills although I specialise in Edexcel (A) GCSE and Edexcel A level tutoring as well as focused assistance with A level NEA projects.
I am a keen cyclist and walker as well as being a dedicated family man with two teenage children, living in the heart of the Peak District in Hathersage.
I have been teaching for twenty five years. I spent 5 years at St Edmund's College, Ware - a boarding school in Hertfordshire before moving to St Andrew's School in Kenya for 3 years as Head of Geography. I have been teaching at Birkdale School for the last 14 years in a thriving, forward looking and dynamic Geography department and I am currently joint Head of Department.
I am currently an examiner for Edexcel (A) GCSE and have specialised in marking both the Physical Geography and Fieldwork papers for the last few years. Prior to that I examined for AQA.
Teaching is all about relationship, but success in exams is all about understanding, recall and practice. These are the main areas I tend to focus on with the students I tutor. Other particular areas of focus are exam technique and practice.
