I am a highly experienced, recently-retired Physics teacher looking to supplement my income with some tutoring.
I have taught Physics up to A level for more than 30 years with great success, teaching all topics in the national specifications jn all the major exam boards. For example, recent experience involves producing and developing course for the Cosmology and Nuclear Physics options.
I have been a GCSE Physics examiner for more than 30 years and tutoring regularly for the last three years
My approach to tutoring depends on the needs of the student: if preparation for an imminent exam is required then I would expect to focus on organisation and to help with revision and exam techniques by concentrating on the detailed specification and looking at the student's approach to previous exam questions. If longer term support is needed, then the focus would be on understanding fundamental concepts with a more discursive approach, using problems to help development and to aid reinforcement. The emphasis is on developing the thinking skills required for academic success.
