Hi! My name is Tracey. I am a kind and approachable tutor, who my students seem to like and enjoy coming to see. I offer discounted lessons to adults or older students that can come at 2pm on weekdays. I specialise in teaching GCSE maths, GCSE science, A-level biology, A-level chemistry, social sciences and the Kent Test. I have been a fully qualified teacher of science since 2007.
My training as a teacher focused around children aged between 7 and 14 and the transition from primary school to secondary school.
I am a full time private tutor working from home in the evenings and I teach at schools, A level or home school students during the day. (I can travel to some students during the day but not in the evenings or Saturday).
I have particular experience working with students with special educational needs to help them achieve their full potential.
I have limited spaces available, so please send me a message to see if I can offer you a lesson at the time you prefer before paying for my details.
I have been helping year 4 and 5 students prepare for the Kent Test since 2013
During my training as a teacher I have worked in both primary and secondary schools in Kent. In my most recent teaching position at an academy in Folkestone I held the responsibility of KS3 Teaching & Learning Coordinator.
My teaching has been judged to be good with elements of outstanding by OFSTED.
I have a secure knowledge of the assessment criteria from KS2 science (year 5 SATS exams), GCSE science and KS5 Biology (A Level)
I have been the lead in my department for producing schemes of work and lesson plans suitable for KS3 pupils who, for a variety of reasons, were not able to access the KS3 curriculum.
I have also worked as a voluntary science officer in Asia; teaching marine biology and ecology to adult learners through classroom and SCUBA diving activities.
I regularly teach English as a Foreign Language at summer schools in Kent.
I am a patient tutor who is enthusiastic about my chosen subjects and the benefits of a science and maths education to every walk of life.
First we will need to discuss what you are hoping to achieve in the tutor sessions and then we can work together to achieve those goals. This first meeting is free of charge, so that you can come and meet me without obligation. I can help you understand the way that you learn most effectively and give advice on improving your exam technique so that you can reach your full potential.
