I teach all subjects across the Primary age range and some Secondary. My focus will be on your child's overall well being, happiness, confidence and of course on meeting those school expectations.

ABOUT ME: Since graduating as a teacher, quite a long time ago, I have travelled and taught around the world. I love learning and being in nature. In 2017, I moved back to Cornwall to be close to my family and enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes here. I also spent a fantastic year completing a Masters in 'Outdoor and Experiential Learning'. In my spare time, I love to be in the sea, on my mountain bike, walking or doing yoga. I also love languages and in addition to studying English Literature at degree level and French at A level, I am now quite fluent in Spanish (IGCSE A*) and German.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a Primary School Teacher for over 25 years, both in England (London and Cornwall) and overseas (Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Austria and Spain). I have been a team leader and held various curriculum leadership posts. I have taught the whole Primary age range (Nursery to Year 6) and a tiny bit in Secondary School. I have gained lots of training in many different areas over the years and am qualified and experienced as a mindfulness teacher through 3 different organisations.

Tutoring Approach

We all learn differently and we are motivated when learning feels purposeful and interesting, when we feel happy, relaxed and confident. Brains and bodies thrive on movement. My approach to teaching combines all the above through a wide range of techniques. Lessons are adapted and tailored to the interests and needs of individual learners and are as active and creative as possible. This includes online teaching for which I have lots of short brain-break/movement tools.
