I qualified with the GTCS in 2008, after a successful probationary year in a Lanarkshire school.

Since then I was permanently employed in state schools in North Lanarkshire, Glasgow and Stirling before moving into the private sector in 2015.

I’ve taught and presented candidates at all levels of secondary school, including National 5 and Higher English.

Tutoring Approach

I don’t complete homework with your child, instead we will work on the skills needed to boost their grade. This means that during my time with them, we’ll work on the areas crucial to the exam. I may set additional homework.

Please note that I can’t help your child to write their folio and can only give generic support to help them to generate ideas, plan and develop their writing.
