I am a semi retired maths expert who is both friendly and empathic. I like to help students understand and enjoy Maths, meeting them where they are so that they can move forward with confidence. I am a chartered mathematician and chartered scientist.

Tutoring Experience

I am an outstanding maths teacher having been both Deputy Head and Head of Maths for over 20 years. I have worked with AQA, Edexcel and the International Baccalaureate Organisation as an examiner for GCSE, AS, A level, International AS and higher level IB Diploma for 15 years. I have been part of the question writing team for AQA A Level Maths for 5 years.

Tutoring Approach

I am highly knowledgeable and therefore am able to meet the needs of the student by using a variety of approaches to enable the student to fully understand tricky topics. I am especially good at helping students who lack confidence and need guided consolidation to access exam questions.
