As an experienced science tutor, I guarantee B grade or higher for A-level students who join my specialised program, with a 50% tuition fee refund if this standard isn't met. With over 13 years of teaching experience, I've had the privilege of working with students from top UK schools, including St. Paul's School, Westminster School, Hampton School, Lady Eleanor School, Manchester Grammar School, and Godolphin & Latymer School.
My expertise includes Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics across GCSE and A Levels. I also provide training for Imperial and Oxbridge admission tests for Physics and Engineering departments, and other university entrance exams. In 2014 and 2015, I was honored to teach pan-Asia Physics Olympiads, Asian Physics Olympiads, and International Olympiads, representing Hong Kong. My students achieved remarkable success, winning 6 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals.
After being offered PhD positions at the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, and the University of Sheffield in 2015, I chose to pursue my studies in plastic electronics at Imperial College London. In 2017, I joined two highly respected teaching organizations dedicated to providing 1-to-1 tutoring for financially disadvantaged students. One of my students experienced a remarkable improvement, going from an E grade to a solid B in physics and eventually enrolling in a top-ranked university to study mechanical engineering.
My tutoring approach is highly exam-focused, enabling students to achieve top grades in a short time. For example, I teach unique calculator tricks for mathematics exams to quickly obtain answers. My specialized exam techniques allow students to solve many multiple-choice questions within 10 seconds. Students often find my teaching effective, making difficult concepts easier to grasp. I have helped students improve from lower grades to higher ones, as well as those predicted A/A* grades seeking a solid A* to gain admission to top UK universities. Additionally, I offer tutorials for STEP/MAT/PAT/Cambridge EAA exams for applicants to Cambridge, Oxford, and Imperial College London.
All my students can reach out to me via WhatsApp for free question assistance, typically receiving a response within 2 hours. This allows our tutorial time to focus on exam practice
In addition to regular tutorials, I offer two distinct plans tailored to students' needs:
B Grade Guaranteed Scheme
The B Grade Guaranteed Scheme is designed to help A-Level Physics/Mathematics students achieve at least a B grade by completing a minimum of 50 lessons (two hours per lesson). If they don't achieve a B grade or higher, students will receive a 50% refund on the total tuition fee.
A* Targeting Scheme
The A* Targeting Scheme caters to students aiming for an A* in A-level or Level 8/9 in GCSE. We'll work through tailor-made A* grade difficulty questions to achieve top results in A-level Physics and Mathematics. Due to changes in the new specification, past papers from the old specifications are no longer useful. This plan provides students with extra challenging practice questions as homework.
π£ π¬ Feedback from Harry (A-Level Physics, Further Math's, Oxford PAT and Interview)
Thank you so much, Dr. Jon, for helping my son Harry get into Oxford to study Physics. We never imagined Harry could achieve this! We found Dr. Jon when Harry was in Year 11, struggling to get the top grades. Every week, Dr. Jon tailored-made A* grade questions specifically for the areas Harry needed to improve on. It helped a lot!
At first, we thought Dr. Jon's fees were a bit high, especially since he only teaches A-level students online. But he's really efficient and can explain tough concepts quickly. He does in 1 hour what might take other tutors 2 hours or more. This not only gave Harry more time to study other subjects but also made us realise that Dr. Jon offers good value for money, especially when compared to other tutors with similar qualifications, experience, and results.
π£ π¬ Feedback from Sharon (A-Level Physics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Cambridge EAA and Interview prep course)
Dr. Jon tutored my son for his A-levels for more than a year, and he has been tutoring my daughter for her GCSE. Jon is smart, friendly and patient. He sees the strength and weakness in his pupils and tutors accordingly. He has exptertise in preparation for Oxbridge, and I am very happy to report that my son has been accepted by Cambridge this year. This would not have happened without Jon's help. I highly recommend him to anyone.
π£ π¬ Feedback from Omar (A-Level Physics)
Iβve been tutored by Jon for 9 months and in that time he increased my grade from a D/E to a solid B. During this short amount of time, he really made me think as a physicist, explaining many theories in physics which were hard to understand at first. He really made me fall in love with the subject and made doing exam questions much more enjoyable. Jon pushes you as a student, making you strive to achieve the top grades, constantly growing my confidence in the subject as my grades climbed after every assessment I took in school. Honestly I struggled in physics a lot during my first year of A level and was really losing hope, but thankfully with Jonβs tutoring he helped me achieve my dream of studying engineering at a top ranked university.
π£ π¬ Feedback from Harrison (Cambridge ENGAA, A Level Physics, and Further Maths)
Jon is an outstanding tutor with high standard teaching ability. He always encourages me to think, decide and attempt. He has taught me for five months for the Cambridge Engineering Admission test and the interview for Fitzwilliam College at Cambridge. Not only he taught me how to solve questions, he also taught me exam skills of answering certain types of questions, which enable me to think systematically. I had high confidence during both exam and interview, especially this is the interview for the best university in the world. Even though I have already achieved A* in Physics last year, Jon also inspires me by teaching physics beyond A-level syllabus to strengthen my problem-solving skill. Plus, Jon is always patient and encouraging even I made mistakes.
