I am a PhD graduate with 5+ years teaching and tutoring experience. I am passionate, determined, and motivational teacher who believes that learning can - and should - be a fun, enriching experience. Together with deep subject expertise and a strong teaching background, I would be the perfect tutor both for students struggling to get to grips with the subject, and for those high-achievers looking to secure a place at a top college or university.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy cooking, travelling, football, and cricket.

Tutoring Experience

5 + years teaching and tutoring experience, working in England and internationally. I've worked with students across a range of ages and abilities, from GCSE tuition through to Masters' level teaching at a top UK university. I am a published academic historian, with extensive expertise and experience in developing the key analytical and communicative skills that students need to succeed.

I am also a qualified foreign language teacher and have worked with students in both Cambodia and Japan, improving their verbal and written communication skills.

Tutoring Approach

Creative, supportive, and comprehensive. I aim to create a supportive environment in which students can gain the confidence to believe in their own abilities and learn to enjoy the process of learning. I draw on my extensive academic expertise, using primary source materials that bring the subject to life, and use my own teaching experience to deliver a comprehensive programme covering both the key skills and course requirements students need to succeed in exams and in their wider academic career.
