Aside from my Ph.D. qualification in Chemistry form Durham University, I have one year experience as a Science teacher who specialises in Chemistry (I teach up to GCSE higher level of all 3 Sciences) and I am working at an outstanding school in Birmingham. I am offering tutoring for pupils from 11 years old (KS3) up to higher and foundation level GCSE as well as Chemistry A Level.
I have experience of working with KS3 and KS4 in mainstream schools across higher and foundation level Chemistry, Biology and Physics. I also have experience of working with KS5 Chemistry A Level.
My other experience include being a junior demonstrator at Durham University for Physical Science Laboratory (supervising specific experiments and marking scientific reports) as well as a mentor for undergraduate and master students as well as summer internship students joining our research team (mostly international students).
Although I am new to the teaching educational sector, I have a good working knowledge of teaching the new science exam specifications (AQA & Edexcel).
My approach to teaching is to use simple and accessible ways to teach difficult concepts in Science via the use of exam practice questions to enable my pupils to become familiar with the language used thus gain confidence in their abilities to apply their improving knowledge.
