Hi everyone! :)
I'm thrilled to introduce myself as a dedicated tutor with a strong academic background in Psychology. I have recently completed my PhD in Psychology, and I hold both a Masters and a First Class Honours Degree in the field.
I am very passionate about Psychology, and I thoroughly enjoy guiding others on their journey to expand their knowledge in this fascinating subject. I take pride in providing valuable support to students in honing their research skills and mastering the use of SPSS. Throughout my teaching experience, I have received outstanding feedback from undergraduate Psychology students, leading to nominations for both the 'outstanding teaching' and 'excellent feedback' awards.
I have taught undergraduate Psychology students since 2018. Notably, I was module leader for 'Introduction to research skills', covering topics such as SPSS, designing experiments, and report writing.
I have also taught lectures and run tutorials for Social and Cognitive Psychology, Forensic Psychology, and Developmental Psychology.
Moreover, I possess valuable expertise in assessing academic work and providing constructive feedback. I have a proven track record in evaluating exam answers, reports, essays, and research posters, aiding students in honing their writing and presentation skills.
When it comes to my approach, I prioritize flexibility and adaptability, tailoring my teaching style to suit each student's unique needs. To ensure an effective learning experience, I begin by assessing your individual learning style and specific requirements. This allows me to carefully plan our lessons and optimize your understanding and retention of the material.
For instance, if you are a visual learner, I will incorporate visual aids, diagrams, and charts into our lessons to enhance comprehension. If you prefer a more hands-on approach, we can engage in practical exercises and interactive discussions to solidify your understanding of key concepts. By customizing the learning process to align with your preferences, I aim to create an engaging and productive environment.
In addition, I emphasize a student-centered approach that encourages active participation and fosters critical thinking. We will tackle challenging topics together, engaging in stimulating discussions and thought-provoking exercises. Furthermore, I place great importance on real-world applications of psychological principles, connecting theory to practical scenarios that you can relate to.
