I'm an approachable, experienced, and friendly tutor who thoroughly enjoys learning. I pride myself on finding interesting ways of teaching to ensure that the lesson will spark enthusiasm for your chosen subject and challenge your skills. I have plenty of free resources available for you, that I will customise depending on your learning needs.
The parameters of my own University degrees (BA, MA) were similar to an English literature degree: theoretical, comprehensive, research and essay-based. For the MA degree I received a scholarship and a Distinction for my work. I am now completing a fully-funded PhD in Leicester and teaching at a college for SEN students.
I tend to tutor on a word-of-mouth basis, but since moving to Leicester I have now refreshed my tuition account and I am fully available for online tuition.*
PLEASE NOTE: due to increased demand I am now only available for online tuition. The first lesson is still free, but please ask me any questions on the forum. Thank you
I have ten years of teaching experience ranging from at-home tuition, working in a pupil referral centre, working in a tuition centre, helping with the UK start-up of a tuition centre, assisting with children who have learning difficulties, teaching small classes of children learning English as a second language, helping adult-learners on a 1:1 basis, teaching adults learning English as a second language and arranging a two week immersive language course for Swedish students visiting Southampton, and lecturing on a part time basis at De Montfort University. I now teach BTEC Vocational Studies full time at a college for students with additional needs.
I have an excellent pass rate for students taking entrance exams to Grammar and Private schools, as well as an excellent pass rate for the i/GCSE on Edexcel and AQA exams boards.
I can tutor at all levels specified on my profile and I encourage different ways of learning to suit your needs. My tuition is about building your confidence and engagement with the subject.

To ensure that your needs are met, all first meetings will be FREE. During this hour we will get to know each other and run through your learning requirements. There is no commitment for you to go ahead with the tuition.
I will then structure a lesson plan for the following weeks ahead and, once you have confirmed that you are happy, we will take tuition on a lesson by lesson basis.
All lessons will include homework but the tasks will vary depending on your requirements. I do not have a set style of teaching because I understand that every person learns differently, so please do not hesitate to ask me as many questions as you want on the chat forum.
PLEASE NOTE: due to increased demand I am now only available for online tuition The first lesson is still free, but please ask me any questions on the forum. Thank you
