I live in Sutton Coldfield and work in Birmingham. I have been teaching over 12 years and also work for three major exam boards. I have a current and up to date DBS as required in the profession. I have a passion for teaching and love my job. My aim is to inspire students to attain the most they possibly can and believe in good value for money. My A level results for Economics are currently for both AS and A2, in the top 10% and above for the country and I demand the highest standards from my students. I would describe myself as honest and reliable and am happy to provide references and evidence of any professional concern you may have. I offer full and ongoing support to my students and have a wide range of materials to support their learning based upon my my professional and examination work. I have an excellent feedback record and plan to keep it that way by offering the best possible service.

Tutoring Experience

I currently Head of Department at a high achieving, selective girls grammar in Birmingham. I teach all the A level courses including economics and business. I work for three major exam boards, CIE international for GCSE and AS papers, (Econ) OCR AS and AQA for A2. In addition I have experience of tutoring all exam boards at both AS and A2 and have tutored first year undergraduates from the University of Aston.

I have over 17 years of teaching experience and have worked with two or more exam boards for 8 years. I am a very experienced teacher and tutor.

Tutoring Approach

Each individual has different needs. Tutoring is a individual student orientated service. Firstly we would identify the desired outcomes of the tuition sessions and how we can achieve those outcomes. Depending on the individual this may mean starting by revising work that has been covered at school over a period of time but not understood or it could be regular support with work that is currently being covered. In my experience exam preparation and technique is of vital importance and I aim to teach students to maximise their individual grade potential through knowledge of the exam, it is important that a student is well prepared going into an examination.

I am also now offering a 50% discount of my one to one fee for group Skype lessons. This is an affordable and innovative way to gain reduced rate access to a qualified professional and experienced examiner. During these sessions I will guide students through exam technique and how to answer questions from an examiners perspective giving students the opportunity to develop and hone their examination skills. In addition theory will be covered upon request and there will be an opportunity to ask questions in and after the session. If you email me we ca discuss this further and establish your needs.
