I have a degree in Classics from Cambridge University, and a lifelong enthusiasm for Ancient Roman and Greek culture. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring students of all ages and believe a grounding in Latin or Greek is enriching far beyond school and university years.
I have over 10 years of personal tutoring experience and take a pride in inspiring a student to enjoy and develop confidence in their subject, whether for Common Entrance, GCSE or A/ AS Level or for personal study.
I tutor at primary and secondary school level, and have several years' experience with homeschooling students.
I also have experience of teaching those with SEN, including dyslexia.
I am a member of The Classical Association and keep my teaching skills up to date by attending an annual Classics Teachers' Conference at The University of Cambridge.
Former students have gained places at top ranking public schools in the UK and Oxbridge.
My main aims are to keep the lessons both focussed and fun! Everyone learns well if they are enjoying the subject, and I do my best to make sure my students are enthusiastic about the sessions and focussed on understanding the material covered.
I am flexible in my approach and tailor my lessons towards a student's particular learning style, whether it is primary visual, aural, or a combination.
I have experience of teaching based on the Oxford and Cambridge Latin courses and several Ancient Greek courses including the JACT course.
I welcome students or all ages and will be happy to discuss what options for lessons.
